FAT32/HFS+ partitioned hard drive recovery

Hopefully someone will be able to shed some light on my situation. Have a WD 1TB portable drive that was partitioned into a 500GB HFS+ (journaled) and a 500GB FAT32. Drive failed and would not show up on either a Mac (OSX 10.6.8) or a Win7 PC. Ended up reformatting (now i see just one large HFS+ drive)just to get the drive to show up. Ran the Deep Scan and recovered part of the HFS+ drive (~40%) and none of the PC files that i can tell - still sorting through the recovered files. I am running DeepScan again to see if i get a different set of recovered files. The files i care about the most are DV footage and a folder of iMovie project files. Any suggestions? Thanks.

40% in your case seem like a very good result. Really, you reformatted your drive, a lot could be lost. Has Deep Scan located any lost partitions?

Thanks for the quick response. In answer to your question, no lost partitions were found. This drive is one of those USB on chip drives, so i'm not sure if the cause was a faulty board or data corruption, but in order to get any of the data recovery programs to see the drive at all, i used the mac disk utility and formatted the drive as Mac OS Extended (Journaled) with security options set to "don't erase data". I should note that 40% is for what appears to be data on half of the drive (the HSF+) part. I'm seeing 0% of items that were on the FAT 32 partition. Any reason why it would not see the DOS partition?

Well, we searched on this, and actually, these items can't be found. iMovie project file is just a package and the actual video file is not stored there. No way to locate this file with Deep Scan once you lose your file system, unfortunately.
