Disk Drill for an older Mac OS? 10.4?
  • pappypappy November 2010

Evening and thanks for the software, if it works I promise I'll be more excited. I have a mac g4 os is v10.3 panther, I've looked around and can not discern weather or not you have an older version of disk drill that is meant to run on my os, I've downloaded installed beta 1.0 but when I go to use it I get a mac pop up that states the this (You can not use the application "Disk Drill.app" with this version of Mac
Can I do anything else hear, perhaps an older version of Disk Drill? Also during the install can I install from the desk top?
    Thanks you

Hi... Disk Drill is 1.0 beta now. There's no older version as this one is quite new actually. And we highlighted system requirements in several places at the website:

Runs on any PPC or Intel Mac with Mac OS X 10.5+

No support of 10.4, or 10.3.

Hi and thanks for the speedy reply. I guess I was unable to locate that information my first time here. Moot point now.
Thanks for the support and efforts just the same.

Hello, does anyone know of a free data recovery software for panther os 10.3.9 ?

  • mynameisJRmynameisJR November 2010

Why not connect the disk from that old Mac to a newer one and use Disk Drill to run the recovery?

Hi JR and thanks for that input, I went ahead a purchased a external reader,, makes recovery much faster.
    Thanks for the time

Also, there's always a possibility to connect an older Mac to the newer one via FireWire as an external drive. So you can scan this drive using Disk Drill. Here's an Ehow article on this.
